On the job in Wichita Falls

Well, it has now been a month since I started at the Wichita Falls Public Library and it has been a blast.  I must say that the pace has been much more hectic than in my previous position, but I have been able to learn much in a just a few weeks. First of all, I know about various circulation issues including issuing library cards, checking books in and out and returning books to the stacks.   Secondly, I have been doing what I do best and that is to provide reference and computer services to the public, something that I have not done to a long time.  Finally, I have been given the responsibility to process orders for books and other materials for the library.   I have been able to order books for the library in the 000s, 790s and 900s (sections dealing with history, sports, musicals, film and news journalism).  I ordered the memoirs of Peter Cushing and Alan Napier who played the butler in the original Batman TV show.   It is my hope that I can provide the best of service for the people of the community.    I hope to also grow spiritually as I seek a church home for my family.

Hello folks, my name is Efrem and I am a great purveyor of information. I love to travel, read informative books and have a fascination with all sorts of stuff. I graduated in 2007 from San Jose State University with an MLIS and have done library work for the past several years. Before that I was a legislative assistant in the California Legislature where I got tired of the rat race. I am married to my wonderful wife and have a spunky son who loves to read as well. I hope you enjoy my site.
